Education

Under the leadership of Doru Platon, a native of Iasi and a citizen of Houston for more than 20 years, group of children from Texas have visited Iasi and geographical beauties of Romania. The activity started in 2018 and was continued ever since with increased success amidst its target group. The children learned the particularities of the geography of Romania, some of them unique (mud volcanoes, for example), and learned first-hand the history of Iasi (one of the oldest settlements of Romania and an important historic center throughout its history.

In exchange, Romanian children have had the opportunity to visit Texas and learn what makes it such a special place. The expeditions went deep into the heart of the Lon Star State under the leadership of the same Doru Platon. The kids learned about Texas geography, climate and their particularities. It was also a great occasion to meet and to bond with kids of their age from Houston and from Texas at large. From 2018 these events helped the two great nations to get to know each other and learn to appreciate what they have in common from a very age.
