Strong relationships between the two cities came to bear with the most unfortunate and unexpected situation. The war in Ukraine took the world by storm and very quickly the urgent need to help the civilians in the aggressed country became a mission for people with big hearts around the globe. Understandably, Texans were among the first to answer.
But their aids needed a reliable and trustworthy path to the people in Ukraine.
A Iasi native, part of the group in Texas sending the help reached out to Iasi City Hall. The mayor and deputy mayor of Iasi answered instantly and offered the infrastructure, verified means of transportation and the certified liaisons with the sister city of Chernovtsy to facilitate the expedited delivery of the humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
